Baseball Tournament

We start fall baseball tomorrow. The break was nice but, we were really starting to miss baseball. B is super excited because not only are they playing in a big tournament this weekend they are also moving up to kid pitch. Really the kids are suppose to be playing another season of coach pitch but since they didn't have very many teams, we also have no competition. So, the coachs and parents (or should I say Dad's) came together to make the decision to move them up. Wednesday was their first day of kid pitch practice and they did a great job. It's going to be different being that they can steal bases now but overall I think they will do well - it's real baseball now baby.
So excited! Our first game is at 9AM in Mansfield. We play 2 games if we win we play again on Sunday.
Pictures to come! Good Luck Storm!!

Reefs

I got a new pair of sandals my friends kept telling me I had to have. Well, I finally got to wear them today and let me tell you, they were so comfortable and cute! They are called Reefs, if you own a pair you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, I suggest you get some or try some out. Comfort and stylish all in one, hard to find.

What were you doing when.....

I found this on my friends blog and thought it was cool....

What were you doing when......

Princess Diana’s death 31 August 1997- R and I were babysitting his nieces. My Mom called me to tell me about it.

Attack on the twin towers 11 September 2001- I was laying in B's room nursing him when my mother in law called for us to turn the TV on. We got to see the second tower go down and see all those poor people jumping out of the building. Still sends chills down my spine....

Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster January 28, 1986 - I was in 4th grade, the teacher got a TV and we got to see in our class....over and over...so sad!

Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster February 1, 2003 - I was getting out of bed when I heard the loud boom. I swear I felt the earth shake!

Oklahoma City Bombing April 19, 1995 - I was getting ready for the regional track meet when I heard about this.

Tag your it.

You never know who's watching

Many of you know me and my addiction to coffee. This morning while dropping the kids off at school I decided not to wait to get my morning coffee but to go ahead and buy one at The Cup. You never know who's going to be watching. Being that my coffee was only $1.00, I was able to gather a few coins from my purse to complete a dollar, so I paid for it. I got my cup, filled it, sweetened it and I was on my way......when the building lights went out. It was a practice fire drill so, we (L and I ) stood still while watching all the kids hurry out of the building. I then started talking to Christina (the coffee lady). L decided she needed to sit on the counter to talk too. So I put her up there. While we were talking L reaches into my purse, gets my check book out on with the search. As she's going through my wallet...... out goes the library card, the Tom Thumb card, gas card, then I see the look on her face, when she finally comes across my blue Chase debit card. She hands it over to Christina, who is then laughing. We both smile while still carrying on a conversation. So then L decides OK then, your talking so I'll swipe the card myself. So she does. By then we are both shocked but still talking like nothings really happening. She prints out a receipt gives it to her (and by then L is waiting with a pen to sign. ) She scribbles on it puts the flower pen back into it's container and hands her the slip. It was so cute! Christina then thought since she's paid ( or at least she thinks she did) I have to give her something. She found the smallest cup she could find with a lid, put a little of my coffee in it and she started to walk away when she finally turned around looked at me and said "Mommy copy, Mon". She calls coffee - copy. Put a smile on my face!

Our week

Saturday right before she broke out into the rash
This was this morning
Telling her Daddy she had his "mote" - (remote)

My baby is 20 months old. She's a happy, energetic, independent little girl. Ask anyone...

Last week was a stressful week for all of us. Not only was L sick but, the kids also started school. Right now we are dealing with some separation anxiety. Our middle child, B, just can't get back into the routine of things. I know it will all get better with time. I plan to meet with his teacher to get things going in the right direction for him.

As for , C, our oldest. She's doing great and loving 5Th grade. She's growing into a beautiful young lady. We were blessed with a great teacher. She admires them all.

Back to , L, the antibiotics she was on for 7 days broke her out into a rash that then turned into hives. Many of you saw her today and thought "What in the world is wrong with her"? She's acting normal, eating, drinking and playing but, she looks terrible. I took some ictures of her, not her best but, I wanted to share them anyway.

Keep us in your prayers!

A little celebration kiss.
Hit And Run - Champs 2008
Top row: Andy, Reid, Sam, Candace, Jason, Kemp, Gayle, Luey
Bottom row: Leslie, Scott, Maggie, Minerva, Roni and Becca

We beat the Pop Tarts 13-9 this evening. I played the best game of my life, so I was told. There's always room for improvement but, overall it was my best game. And the most important thing I had fun doing it. R played awesome as well - like always. He got a little scrapped up sliding into home plate, where he was called "SAFE".....he's too fast to be thrown out.

Wow - what a game! Here are a few pictures.

My ballerina

I thought this was too funny so I had to take a picture to show you what our little princess can do. Since the time L learned how to pull herself in a standing potion. She's always stood on her toes. When I say stand on her toes, your probably thinking on her tip-toes. No......she stands on her toes, like a little ballerina. She can walk around the house like that too. The thought of it makes me toes hurt - trust me we have tried it. As painful as it looks, there is no pain involved (for her).
It's pretty darn cute - just had to share.

First Day of School

The kids are back to school and they were so excited. I manged to get a few pics of the kids before we left. I knew once we got to school they would be in the door and gone. And sure enough C was gone. B was a little more willing to get his picture taken with the teacher. I can't wait to hug them and hear all about their first day of school.

Our busy weekend

Dessert
C using the chop sticks - they both did better than I did with them.
Friday after our softball game
L having a snack at Children's Hospital
Hospital tag. She didn't want it on her wrist.

Well, where do I start. This weekend was full of surprises. It was the kids last weekend before starting school, so Daddy took the entire week off to spend it with the kids.

Friday we went to out to lunch, meet with the builder, then headed to our last softball game. We lost our game but we still made the playoffs. We play again this Friday at 8 for the Championship. We are very excited about it.

Saturday morning I decided to call the on call nurse because L had a bump that didn't look right. Thank goodness I called, we ended up leaving the house and going straight to Children's Hospital. I thought that it was a staph infection but, I wanted to wanted to be sure before I took her in and I was right it was in fact a Staph infection. After a few minutes of talking to the nurse and explaining everything she said you need to take her to Children's to have that looked at right away. All a little scary, but we had no choice but to take her in right away. We were there for 5 long hrs. After the examination, sonogram and 5 doctors looking at it they decided it was staph too. Luckily it was caught in time to where they wouldn't have to sedate her to drain it. They gave us a strong antibiotic and sent us home. Thank you Jesus!
The medicine seems to be working. The swelling has gone down and it's slowly turning back to it's original color - tan skin, not bright red like it was before. Thank you for your continued prayers and phone calls.

Saturday after leaving the hospital, L seem to be doing well so we took the kids to eat Sushi. A place Daddy had been promising to take them too - Sushi Domo. They really liked it. Especially the dessert. It was yummy - IT was pound cake, deep fried with vanilla ice cream in it. My favorite was the Domo tower and the Miso soup.

Today, Monday, the kids are in full swing and are back to school.

More Movie Reviews~

So...I'm a little behind but we have seen 3 movies since the last one I blogged about.

The first one we saw in theaters "Dark Knight" with Heath Ledger. It was a good movie. Lots of great action scenes. It was hard for me to follow and it was a very long movie. (2 1/2 hrs) Not recommended for young children.

2 of the Netflix movies we've seen are "The Jacket" - not a good one. In fact we turned it off it was so bad. On Tuesday we watched "Fool's Gold" with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. It was a cute movie - and funny too. I highly recommend it for date night with your hubby.
Beware of the "3 second" boat scene - ugh!

My little singer

L singing to me at B's baseball practice. It's too cute....."Je-us la meeeeee"......(her verison of Jesus Loves me)

We have one more mini vacation planned for them next weekend. It should be fun - then back to school....

Great Movie Review

We were out most of the day but, got home right in time to relax with one of R's action pack movie. If it were up to me, we'd be watching a romantic, love story but, it was my hubby's turn to select a movie on Netflix.
Seems like these days there are no good movies out anymore, however, today we watched a movie called "Shooters" with Mark Wahlberg. Anything with him in it, your guarantee to have a good movie picked out. Let me tell you a little bit of what it's about- An expert marksman (Mark) is coaxed out of seclusion by colleagues who need help in preventing a plot to kill the president - he finally realizes he's been set up when he's framed for the assassination attempt. I'll leave it at that - you can watch the rest.
I can honestly say it was a pretty good movie. Lots of shooting and blood - beware! Definitely not kid friendly. B wanted to so badly see it but, it was too much for a 7 year old to handle. He'd peek in every now and then when the guns were going off, (that's a boy for ya) being that we have surround sound and it can get very loud. Almost like you are in the actual movie. I highly recommend this movie. I give it a thumbs up!!!

Sweet V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!

The final score was: Hit and Run 12 - Devils 7

Here are a few pictures that were taken during our game.

I'm back and better than ever!!!!

Photobucket

Most of you remember my little incident with me at our 2ND softball game - yes, when I pulled not one but, both my quads. Well, I'm finally well enough to start playing again. I've been working hard to get where I'm at, at this point. This past week we went out to our friends baseball field to practice. 2 hrs. later...........
There was definitely lots of teaching and coaching involved. Many practice swings later, I actually feel pretty confident in hitting the ball when before my swing was OK but not great! Not sure what I'll feel like when I get to running again....haven't done much of that just yet. I think I'll do just fine.
I'm taking my little camera today. So check back later - Pictures and the score to come!
Go Hit and Run!!!!

Summer count down

Today we went over to our friends house Ashley to swim. We have been trying to get together all summer and today was the day we got to go. Since our friends pool has been broken we have not been able to swim a whole lot this summer so the kids were ready to be in the water.

It was sure perfect weather to be in the SUN.

The school count down has begun at the Stacy home. I'm trying to get the kids back on school schedules. 16 more days!!

We started baseball yesterday. So we are in full swing.....
