Six Flags Over Texas

Daddy and B waiting to order some burgers at Johnny Rockets
Chocolate milkshake - YUM!

Today we took the kids to Six Flags. After the first roller coaster the kids were done. So, R and I decided to ride them alone, without the kids. They were fine with that as long as they didn't have to ride the big rides. The lines weren't too bad and the weather was great! Here are some pictures that were captured today.

C and B at Six Flags - B already looks scared!
Me and Sis before riding Flash Back
R and I on the Flash back - the kids backed out on us so we went alone. it was so much fun!

Babes

My sister in law is finally moved in and living in Burleson. This weekend my brother in law came up from Austin, my father in law and mother law were also here so we all went to try out this famous restaurant called "Babes" that everyone has been talking about. WOW - their food was amazing and not to mention the atmosphere. The line to get in was crazy even at 1:30, but some how we manage to get our party of 12 in in no time.

The waitress came around and took our drink and meat order. ( I know weird) She gave us 4-5 different meats to pick from - which are by the way all home cooked (country fried steak, pot roast, chicken tenders, fried fish) She brought out our drinks and a yummy salad that's only lettuce with their special sweet vignette dressing. Boy, was it good. And Oh my gosh....and the biscuits. You think Cracker Barrel has yummy biscuits, you should try Babes.

They even danced in between songs. L got to go out and do the hokey poky with one the girls. It was so cute. One girl even walked around and sang a Taylor Swift song. C wanted to sing so bad but these waitresses have to acutally audition to be able to sing. The manager told C to come back and audition when she's 16. I guess we'll be going back.

I only got 1 picture while we were there. I was too busy eating all the delicious food.

Burleson is also the home town of Kelly Clarkson - 1st round America Idol winner.

My Ball Player

Ok so I'm not married to a Texas Ranger, however, R sure plays like one.

Lasts nights game was very exciting. They played a team out of W-hacie, and to top it off they were all police officers. I didn't know a small town had that many officers. Being that I'm married to an officer, my thoughts were, "Who's on the streets now, looks like they are all here." I'm sure that wasn't all of them.

The Slammers where up by one, then they were tied. They ended up losing the game by 1 point in over time. What a game......
Great job Slammers!

Janie even taught me how to tumble....who needs a gymnastics coach when your own team mate that can coach you....me in the air

I was sitting thinking about something fun to blog about and it wasn't long before I figured it out.

About a month ago I got a hold of one of my old high school friends, Janie. In fact, Janie was my maid on honor at our wedding. She was even there when I gave birth to C - 10 years ago. She was one of the nurses at the Frio Hospital at the time. She was able to be in the delivery room when I gave birth. I still remember her fixing my hair and telling me it was going to be ok. Janie, thanks for all you did for me.

She and I were inseparable in high school. I found some pictures of us and I wanted to share.

This week was Vacation Bible School at our church. The kids had a blast!

This year I helped out with rec - handing out snacks and drinks.

Thursday: Our drinks were - Paradise H2O, and Tropical slush. ( I thought this was cute)

The Dryden's did an amazing job decorating and preparing all the food. Our job was to make sure everything ran smoothly and was kept in order. We finally did talk them into letting us help prepare some of the food.

Here are some pics I captured of VBS today. I didn't have my camera the majority of the time, however I did make to bring it along on the last day.

Softball

Lately our life has been nothing but baseball and softball. It's a fun sport to play as long as you don't get hurt. R and I have both had multiple injuries since we've started last year. He has been playing with a swollen ankle for weeks. Call him the crazy one. Me on the other hand will not play until I am completely heeled. I thought after 4 weeks I would be able to play again, however I am still very sore. I would really hate to get out there and hurt myself again. That would not be good...( I'll save my self the humiliation.)

This Sunday is the Dallas Police LPOA Annual Softball tournament. It should be fun to watch. Pics coming soon!!

Come out and watch if your in the area. Back the Blue!!

Guadalupe river

The kids and R playing in Guadalupe River

They had so much fun playing with their cousins Kassidy and Grant.

The sisters I never had.....

Me and Collye
Me and my big brother Rocky
Me and Lynssi

I have to say that I have the best sister in laws ever. Growing up I always wanted a sister to do things with but it never happened. Mom was only able to give me 2 brothers, who I love dearly. But every girl knows, it's not the same when it comes to going shopping, sharing clothes and all that fun stuff.

When R and I married over 10 years ago I gained, not 1 but 4 sisters. WOW! They are by far the best sister in laws I could have ever asked for.

Paige, Wendye, Collye and Lynssi - love ya'll girls!!
