We try to have date night a few times a month because we think it's very important to us. Last night was our night. And not to mention the weather was perfect. My husband made all the plans for the night.
*note* last week we went for a motorcycle ride around town, no highways just up and down major roads frequently used.
Well, last night we decided to we go to dinner and go for another bike ride around the next town ( 15 miles aways) on the highway. I was a bit nervous. I have to admit but, excited all at the same time.
As soon as the sitter made it to my house. We were up and ready to hit the road.
I have admit I wasn't as scared as I thought I was going to be. Maybe it's because I did a lot of praying before we left. It sure helps me relax. My prayer was along the lines of .....Lord be with us both on this bike ride - and..... I don't want to be road kill tonight so please keep us safe.... I had to laugh thinking God was probably laughing at me but I was saying what was on my mind at the time. (I know I'm crazy to even think that)
We ended up going on a motorcycle double date with our great friends, Brad and Stephanie. I'm so glad they joined us. It made it that much more FUN to see another couple enjoying the ride as much as we did.
After eating at the Olive Garden, the boys (our hubbys) started their bikes. You all know what restaurants are like on weekends - JAMMED PACKED!! Anyway, there was a group of young HS boys and girls outside waiting to be seated as we exited the restaurant. And I have to say the look on their faces as we loaded the bike, and as they started the bikes was hilarious. They both had different reactions. You just had to be there.
My thoughts is that the girls were saying - they are riding on those bikes. And the boys jaws just dropped and their face said it all.
I did take one picture on myself before we left since I couldn't take my camera. sniff, sniff....
And I can understand why. I think at one point we were pushing 90. Yes, this I wasn't aware of until we made it to the restaurant and my friend mentioned how fast we were going.
What do you think about motorcycles? Have you ever been on one??

I too love date nights!! We don't have a bike though and that sounds sooo fun!! My husband has always wanted one but I am a bit of a sissy and I worry about him crashing!! :) They are very cool to watch other people ride though!! :) LOL
YOu are brave.....motorcycles freak me out!!!`
I don't care for motorcycles anymore, but back in my college days I road them to work with my friend all the time. I loved it.I am a wimp in my old age. lOL
I love date nights. We don't have them as often as we use to, now we only have 1 kid left at home instead of 5, and he is 15 and gone on the weekends mostly with his friends or his sisters. So we get plenty of alone time.
I Love bikes but haven't been on one for years!
Looks like you had a wonderful time!
That sounds like my husbands perfect idea of a date. Me-I'm a big chicken when it comes to motorcycles.
I could just picture the expression on the kids faces. Priceless I'm sure!
You look so cute!!! I'm scared of motorcycles. You are one brave woman!!
I love date night though. Very important!!!!!!
Have a great week!
I love date nights too. We are not married for to long but I believe that it is important to keep that sparkle in the relationship. Sounds like you had a blast and I'd be so nervous too. Motorbikes and Highways (Autobahn) gives me goosebumps and not always the good ones.
We love date nights around our house too, but...I am not quite as brave as you...glad you had a good time, because that is what it is all about.
What a fun date night! I have never ridden a motorcycle. How fun that you and your husband enjoy riding together! I bet you guys look awesome on it!
your totally brave... never been on a bike before.. it looks kinda scary!!
How totally cool!!!
I could picture the HS kids!! They're thinking, "That's going to be me in a few years!!" Hahah!
Glad you had a wonderful time! Date nights are so very important!!!
Oh..and I'm too wimpy to go on one!
Love the new layout too!
That is so great that you do that. We are lucky if we get our date night once a month...and my DH never plans it. :)
My hubby has a bike, but rarely rides it anymore. When you have kids priorities change ya know? I hope that someday, when the kids are all grown and independent, that we can get Goldwings and tour the country on motorcycle.
Can you imagine that? A couple of old geezers on a joy ride? :)
Love your blog and your devotion to the Lord!
God bless-
Amanda
